Minister Sri KTR requested the private sector to work closely with the Governments in reducing carbon emissions to net zero. KTR spoke at the World Economic Forum 9th Regional Action Group for South Asia meeting. Minister detailed on Clean Energy policies of the Government adding that Telangana is at the forefront of developing green solutions. The state with 3.5% of national geographical area producing 10.30% (4.2 GW) of India’s solar energy is a testament to its commitment to green energy.Minister has stated that with the introduction of Solar Power Policy and Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage Solutions Policy, Telangana is moving towards clean energy & green solutions. It is leveraging Drones technology to increase green cover through seed-bombing. Telangana has taken up the mammoth task of increasing the green cover in the State through its flagship programme of Haritha Haram while simultaneously making interventions to reduce carbon emissions. Governments should handhold start-ups and innovators to reduce the carbon emissions to net-zero. And the private entities should also pitch in. There should be exclusive academic courses to spread awareness on the Green Energy and Solutions. Telangana is working towards this.
