Minister KTR delivered keynote address at Times of India’s Re Planet initiative, held to raise awareness and discuss key aspects of the #CircularEconomy. Spoke about State Govt.’s initiatives to further improve liveability index of Hyderabad, and make it a World Heritage City.
Stating that Hyderabad has been rated by Mercer as the Best City in India on quality of living index consecutively from 2015 to 2020, the Minister added that CM Sri KCR exhorted the MAUD Dept. to make Hyderabad one among the top 25 cities in the world in terms of liveability.
Minister KTR said that Hyderabad will become the 1st city in India, by April 2023, to treat every single drop of sewerage water. Listing out efforts taken up to make Hyderabad a sustainable city, the MAUD Minister said that all forms of waste is being processed scientifically.
Also, Strategic Nala Development Program (SNDP) was taken up after a detailed study, charting the hydrological map of Hyderabad. All 142 Municipalities in Telangana will have Fecal Sludge Treatment Plants by the end of next fiscal.The Minister also spoke about restoration of Kamans, Stepwells, Ashurkhanas, and other heritage structures in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana.
