Minister KTR participated as Chief Guest at the inaugural session of the national seminar on ‘Media in Telangana: Past, Present and Future’. It is organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Dr BR Ambedkar Open University.In his address, Minister spoke about the wanton propaganda by some media houses against the Telangana movement and the stellar role played by the Telangana journalists to counter it. Also spoke on the State government’s initiatives for the welfare of journalists.Minister has lamented that the media is not giving adequate space/ time to the positive outcomes of Telangana Govt’s schemes and policies. Asked the media to be vocal on the issues currently plaguing the country.Allam Narayana, Chairman Media Academy of Telangana State, Prof. K. Seetharama Rao, VC, BRAOU, Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Director (Academic), BRAOU, S Venkatnarayan, Chairperson, FCC Advisory Committee, Shailesh Reddy, CEO T-SATnetwork, and others were present.
అంబేడ్కర్‌ ఓపెన్ యూనివర్సిటీలో నిర్వహించిన ‘మీడియా ఇన్‌ తెలంగాణ-పాస్ట్‌, ప్రసెంట్‌, ఫ్యూచర్‌’ అనే అంశంపై నిర్వహించిన చర్చాగోష్టిలో ముఖ్య అతిథిగా మంత్రి కేటీఆర్‌ పాల్గొని మాట్లాడారు.స్వాతంత్య్రోద్యమం, తెలంగాణ ఉద్యమంలో పత్రికలు కీలకపాత్ర పోషించాయని కేటీఆర్‌ అన్నారు. షోయబుల్లాఖాన్ తెలంగాణ జర్నలిస్టులకు ఒక స్ఫూర్తి అని, గోలకొండ పత్రికతో సురవరం ప్రతాప రెడ్డి పోషించిన పాత్ర మరువలేనిదని చెప్పారు. పత్రికా యాజమాన్యం కంటే తెలంగాణ జర్నలిస్టుల పోరాట స్ఫూర్తి ఎక్కువని చెప్పారు. ఉద్యమ రోజుల్లో పత్రికా యాజమాన్యాలు తెలంగాణకు వ్యతిరేకంగా ఉండేవని గుర్తుచేశారు. జర్నలిస్టుల సంక్షమానికి తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం అనేక కార్యక్రమాలు చేపట్టింది అని తెలిపారు.
