Ministers Sri KTR and Sri Talasani Srinivas Yadav unveiled the restored stepwell at Bansilalpet today. Besides reviving the stepwell, a museum, an amphitheatre, and a cafeteria were built for future generations to know about the rich heritage, the MAUD Minister speaking on the occasion said.
Revealing that about 3,900 Metric Tons of garbage was removed from the stepwell, the Minister urged the people in the neighbourhood to take the onus of protecting the 17th century heritage structure hereafter.
“A city is not just about concrete structures and physical infra. Its soul lies in its culture, heritage & historic monuments,” said Minister. Listing out the heritage sites that were & are being restored, he hoped Hyderabad will soon get UNESCO World Heritage City recognition.
Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, MAUD, Gadwal Vijaya Laxmi, Mothe Srilatha Reddy Mayor and Deputy Mayor GHMC, DS Lokesh Kumar GHMC Commissioner, Kalpana Ramesh, founder of The Rainwater Project, Swachh Warriors GWS team also graced the event.

మెట్ల బావిని కాపాడుకోవాల్సిన, సంరక్షించుకునే బాధ్యత స్థానికులదే. చెత్త పారేయకుండా చూడాల్సిన బాధ్యత కూడా స్థానికులదే. మెట్ల బావిని కాపాడుకుంటూ హైదరాబాద్ నగరానికి స్ఫూర్తిగా నిలవండి అని కేటీఆర్ స్థానికులకు పిలుపునిచ్చారు.
